Air Pollution and Food Growing 2017

IMG_1690May 2017: Student Catherine Ashdown, under the supervision of UoL Soil Scientist Dr Sheila Palmer, former project leader Dr Rebecca Slack (now at RHS Harlow Carr) and Tom Bliss of Feed Leeds and Leeds Beckett University, installs identical bags of compost containing 4 Japanese greens, four peas, four broad beans, four lettuce and two cut-and come lettuce at four sites: Becket Pocket Beds (near the Dry Dock pub), University of Leeds Sustainable Garden, Green Action Allotment Woodhouse Moor and RHS Harlow Carr. These will be harvested in August and tested for contamination.
